Meet Linda Dream Author
Dream Author
Linda Corby is a British author, screenwriter, and lifelong storyteller. She began writing as a child and penned her first book at thirteen. Over the years, she has worked as a company director, horse transporter, showjumper under BSJA rules, BBC extra, and stunt performer. Her screenwriting career includes co-writing Come to Grief with her American writing partner, Cathy Jourdan, and having her horror miniseries Xmas Spirit optioned in the 1990s.
Now in her 70s, Linda writes prolifically from her countryside home, where she lives with her two beloved Border Collies: Foxy, now 17, and her daughter Spoty, age 12. They are her daily joy, guardians, and grounding force — more than pets, they are family.
Her writing is inspired by vivid dreams, powerful emotions, and the truths that live in silence and shadow.
As a writer, I have always been fascinated by the power of words and the ability to create entire worlds and characters with just a few sentences. Whether it's through novels, screenplays, or articles, I have dedicated my life to crafting stories that engage, inspire, and entertain readers. But as much as I love the creative process, I have also come to realize the importance of having a strong approach when it comes to writing.
Welcome to My World of Art and Photography
Art has always been a part of me — not just something I do, but something I live, breathe, and pour my soul into. My journey as an artist began in an unexpected and turbulent way. I was expelled from convent school for defending myself — I slapped a priest who behaved inappropriately. That moment, while traumatic, was also pivotal. It led me to a path far more authentic and beautiful than anything I could have imagined.
After leaving school, I was fortunate to be tutored by a truly kind and inspiring man, Mr. R. Jones — an artist and English teacher who saw potential in me when others didn't. His wife taught French, and I still remember with fondness the joy of teaching horse riding to their delightful children. Their home became a place of healing and creative growth — a turning point where I discovered that art could be both an escape and a way to process life.
While I create artwork primarily for my books, I also have a deep love for photography. My camera has often been an extension of my eye and heart — especially at equestrian events in Jersey, Channel Islands, where I once worked alongside Michael Anderson, the official photographer. We've sadly lost touch over the years, but if Michael happens to read this — I hope life has been kind to you. It would be lovely to reconnect.
I have a treasure trove of equestrian photographs — thousands of moments frozen in time — waiting patiently to be scanned and shared. Thanks to a dear friend, Sam, who kindly sent me a scanner, 2026 will be the year those memories come alive again. I can't wait to bring them into the light where they belong.
I was first introduced to Fine Art America back in the 90s by my wonderful friend and screenwriting partner, Cathy Jourdan. Though she has now retired, the joy, support, and artistic encouragement she gave me has never left. I will always love her to bits for opening that door.
Today, I invite you to explore my collection — a mixture of visual storytelling, emotional truth, and heartfelt moments. Whether it's a painting that came from a dream or a photograph that captured the right light at the right time, each piece has its own soul. You can find my artwork and photography available for purchase as prints and products on Fine Art America here.
Thank you for visiting, and for supporting independent artists like me. It means the world.
With warmth,
Linda Corby
AUTHOR'S NOTE
Writing these stories has been both a catharsis and a calling.
They were born from dreams, grief, memories that refuse to stay silent, and the ghosts we carry inside us.
I've lived a life of loss and survival. I've known love so strong it echoes through time. These tales are fiction, yes, but they carry absolute truths:
That love doesn't end when a heartbeat does.
That not all hauntings are horror — some are longing.
And that silence is not the same as peace.
If you've ever felt something was watching you kindly… or cruelly… if you've ever seen a dent in the bed beside you and felt comfort or terror — these stories are for you.
For all those we've loved and lost, you are still with us.
— Linda Corby
